Tesoro Electronics—A Historical Perspective Tesoro has a colorful history starting out in the families garage. Founding father Jack Gifford started working as an engineer for Bounty Hunter in 1975 and designed the TR500. Then in 1976 with a partner started C&G Technology. Jack left C&G and went to work for Fisher Research Labs in 1978 and was involved in designing the Fisher 551 and 552.
